On January 18, 2014 the Rotary Leadership Institute will be held at Western Wake Campus in Cary, NC. This one day interactive course at three levels is designed to enhance a Rotarian’s knowledge of Rotary ideals, objectives, and organization, and enhance their leadership skills that can be used on both the club and district level.
As a Rotarian in District 7710 you are highly encouraged to register for one of the RLI sessions at this event. In return, you will come back to your club with stronger Rotary contacts, new ideas, and more dedication to the work Rotary can do here and around the world.
District 7710 offers the facilitated (versus lecture-based) training once a year. Participants have a choice of completing the entire RLI course over three years within our district setting, or speeding up the process by attending sessions in adjoining districts.
All levels are held simultaneously in the 9:00 to 4:30 time period. Registration and breakfast begins at 8:00 AM. Lunch is also provided. Attendees take the three part course in order, one part per institute day. Part I centers around what being a Rotarian means, Part II focuses on effectiveness in your local club, and Part III blends techniques, collaborations, and programs to strengthen the Rotary journey.
Registration fee for the institute is $95 for Part I, $85 for Part II, and $75 for Part III. The RLI Zone site for registration is www. rli33.org or http://rlinews.blogspot.com. Click on the registration section for more detail. Note that in many cases, individual clubs will sponsor one or more of their members for RLI training. Check with your club leadership.
If you need overnight accommodations, we recommend the Hilton Doubletree Cary. On the same weekend, there will be an RLI faculty meeting and training session at the Doubletree, so by staying there you’d be among fellow Rotarians and would have a chance to meet some of the RLI faculty. Dinner on Friday the 17th will be a Dutch treat for enrolled participants at a nearby restaurant. You can call the Doubletree at 919-239-4777 to make your reservation.
